The Haunted - Contemporary Photography Conjured in New England

THE HAUNTED—Contemporary Photography Conjured in New England is a limited edition book of photography and poetry by SPEEDWELL. THE HAUNTED draws a circle around contemporary New England photography as being rich in personal narrative, particularly in the way nature, through the landscape and the human/animal relationship endures as a source of artistic inspiration.

THE HAUNTED also invokes multiple histories unique to New England, including early Puritanism with its fear of witchcraft and sorcery, as well as the rich tradition of lyric and confessional poetry created by New England poets dating back to the 17th century.

Photographers include Tad Beck, Tabitha Bernard, Barbara Bosworth, Neville Caulfield, Caleb Charland, Jed Devine, Smith Galtney, Kate Greene, Pia-Paulina Guilmoth, Tonee Harbert, Cig Harvey, Dylan Hausthor, David Hilliard, Jocelyn Lee, Amanda Marchand, Leah Sobsey, Emily Sheffer, Peter Shellenberger, Wendy Small, Cheryle St. Onge, Shoshannah White.

Poets include Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Anne Sexton, Mary Oliver, Mihku Paul, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow among others
